Meshach: an introduction

on Sep 7, 2015 in About Me

I’m Meshach. (say it “MEE-Shack.”) Meshach was Shadrach’s friend in the Bible. There were three Hebrews, but Mama says she’s not planning on needing to use the third name, so she gave it to Boy’s toy dog. She says Abinadab is too hard to say. Anyways, the man I was named for had a Hebrew name that meant “Who is like God?”

It seems like a kind of big name for little me, but I’m learning it quickly.

I weigh 10 whole pounds. I’m a Chorkie (chihuahua/yorkie mix), leaning more on the chihuahua side. I’m about 7 months old (I’m a Valentine’s Day baby!) and I am still very much a puppy. Shoelaces, pencils, bits of tissue….everything is a toy!

My first owner loved me very much, but she had three dogs and decided I was the one who would do best with a new family. So my new family found me and brought me home. They had everything ready for me, but they had to buy a new harness for my walks because Shadrach was WAY huge. Compared to me, anyhow, but Mama says even cats are big compared to me, so who knows how big Shadrach really was.

Who’s Shadrach? If you read the first 65 posts on this site, you can learn all about him. He sounds like a real character. I don’t bark like he did, I’m much more compact, and they’re going to be able to take me for walks without the leash. Mama says she still loves Shadrach and misses him, but I’m giving her extra love while she gets over her sadness.

I’m going to tell you about my life and adventures every Monday and Thursday. If you don’t want to have to remember when to check, you can like my Facebook Fan Page and Mama will make sure that gets updated whenever I’ve written.
