I’m a little guy

on Sep 10, 2015 in My Life Now

So apparently I’m a little guy. I don’t know exactly what they use as a benchmark,  because seriously, you should have seen me a few months ago. But they think it’s a good thing, I think, so I’ll let them call me “peanut” and “little dude” and “tiny puppy.” It usually involves snuggles or being picked up, both of which I’m a big fan of, so I guess it’s good! Apparently they’re comparing my size to Shadrach’s. I’m starting to think Shadrach was absolutely ginormous! I’m the perfect size to be held. I make an excellent lap dog. I’m guessing Shadrach didn’t do either of those things. I’m not going to spend my whole life in his shadow, though (which was apparently the size of the moon). I’m working at carving out a new concept of “Family Dog” for these guys,...

Meshach: an introduction

on Sep 7, 2015 in About Me

I’m Meshach. (say it “MEE-Shack.”) Meshach was Shadrach’s friend in the Bible. Shoelaces, pencils, bits of tissue….everything is a toy! My first owner loved me very much, but she had three dogs and decided I was the one who would do best with a new family. So my new family found me and brought me home....

Changes

on Sep 3, 2015 in My Life Now

After we had to say goodbye to Shadrach, the hardest decision we could have ever made, we all realized we were now a dog family. We didn’t want to wait to find his successor. No one will ever replace sweet Shadrach. He has a special place in all of our hearts. But we wanted to continue the companionship and welcome someone new into our family. Sunday evening we found him. His name is Meshach. (no, that wasn’t his name before.) He’s a Chorkie, and this guy is actually a puppy! We all called Shadrach “Puppy,” but at 5 he really wasn’t one. But Meshach chews crayons and toes and is just a general puppy still. We’re spending time getting to know his personality and helping him find his place in the family, and I’ll start writing about him next week. You’re going to enjoy him, and hopefully it won’t take long to find his...
